Just minutes ago I de-installed WordPress from the server and uploaded the new static version of the website. The new static version is built off-line using Quarto. Pages load faster and the site uses much less disk space on the server and does not use a database. I did not transfer all the old posts, only those which seemed to still be of some relevance. I may still add some old material, but I will add mostly new material or update some of the old pages already transferred. The site has an RSS feed, and subscribing to the feed is the simplest way to be aware of content updates.
Only the URL to the home page is preserved. URLs to individual pages, posts, and illustrations have all changed.
The old site has been archived by the WaybackMachine.
